My name is Kevin Rudd. This is who I am:
- I’m
a Christian Socialist but I reject socialism.
- I’m
a man of integrity, but I didn’t mind meeting with a convicted criminal
(Brian Burke) on 3 occasions in order to garner support for my leadership
challenge—and then lie about it.
- I’m
pro-family but I voted against the Marriage Amendment Act
- I’m
against abortion but I voted to enable RU486 to be legalised.
- I
despise candidates who say: “Vote for me! I’m a Christian.” Instead,
people should vote for me because I’m a Christian.
- I’m
pro-family so I want dads to stay home unemployed, instead of getting a job.
- I’m
against free markets, but my family made millions using them.
- I’m
a friend of small businesses, but I reject the flexibilities they have been
given by the WorkChoices legislation.
- I
don’t mind illegal immigrants coming here and living on welfare, but I
object to legal foreign workers coming here to do the jobs that Australians
refuse to do.
- I
support government investment in essential infrastructure, but I canned the
Wolfdene Dam project when I was chief-of-staff for the Queensland
government.
- I
believe we must go to great lengths to drastically reduce our CO2
emissions, but I strongly support our coal industry.
- I
object to ‘fear campaigns’ but I think Australians should be terrified
by the government’s WorkChoices legislation and the impending doom being
brought on by climate change.
- I'm
committed to the US alliance but I won’t support them in Iraq.
- I
think the Prime Minister was wrong to endanger the US alliance by attacking
Barack Obama and the Democrats, but I didn’t mind when Mark Latham
attacked George W. Bush and the Republicans.
- I
think the Iraqis need to take over responsibility for their own security,
but I won’t given them any support to help them do it—not even 70
soldiers.
- I
want all our troops home from Iraq, but I still plan to leave 900 there.
- I’m
a God-botherer because every time I speak, God gets really bothered!
